The Grants Coordinator assists the Director of Development with grants cultivation and solicitation.  The Coordinator maintains grants records in donor database and follows up all matters related to grants and donations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares and mails 'GSC Highlights' letters to current and prospective grants donors.
  • Prepares and submits grant reports on time; obtains programmatic and financial information.
  • Prepares monthly summary of grant schedule.
  • Writes and submits thank-you letters for all grants within 48 hours of grant notification or receipt.
  • Prepares grant trackers for all temp-restricted grants and submits them to Business Office and Grants & Contracts.
  • Maintains all grants records in database with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Researches new grant prospects and information on existing donors and creates reports.
  • Assists in the creation and updating of grants marketing materials.
  • Assembles and mails all proposal packets, paying close attention to all required documentation, number of copies needed, correct contact person and mailing address, etc.
  • Maintains a portfolio of funders with appropriate periodic check-ins to ensure an ongoing positive relationship with Goodwill SoCal.
  • Assists in the creation of communications and other marketing materials for the Do Goodwill campaign, as well as unique stewardship materials (such as video, presentation, etc.) for larger funders, when applicable.
Education & Experience

Minimum 3 years of fundraising experience, grants cultivation/solicitation preferred. Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Social Sciences, or other related course of study required. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong ability to work well with a team Detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision Salesforce or other database experience preferred Non-profit experience required; knowledge in working with people with disabilities helpful Must have advanced knowledge proficiency of computer programs in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel, Power Point and E-mail. Proficient in Raiser’s Edge database
