24501 Work Experience Trainee-Custodial (PT)

Goodwill Industries of Southern California Los Angeles, CA (Onsite) Part-Time

Objective and Primary Responsibilities / Summary

The Custodial Service Work Experience Trainee is a temporary work experience position that provides the participant an opportunity to learn the basic tasks and skills of the position. Participants are placed at a variety of work sites and each experience is unique in skills attainment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Sweeps and mops rooms, halls and stairways; strips, waxes and buffs floors; vacuums and shampoos rugs and carpets.
  2. Dusts and polishes desks, counter tops, and furniture. Cleans windows and blinds. Cleans mirrors, drinking fountains, and interiors and exteriors of refrigerators.
  3. Cleans offices, restrooms, and fixtures; cleans and disinfects patient care areas following established procedures.
  4. Pushes or lifts furniture and other heavy items; climbs ladders, and performs other tasks requiring physical agility.
  5. Collects, moves and empties waste containers
  6. Mixes cleaning chemicals and solutions. Restocks cleaning supplies as needed.
  7. Participates in continuous training and learning
  8. Maintains clean and sanitary conditions throughout.
  9. Maintains custodial equipment and supplies in neat, orderly condition.
  10. Interacts cooperatively with Goodwill staff and customers.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  2. Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  3. This position is a temporary position.
