Primary Responsibility / Summary
Empower individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve workplace success by providing tailored job-specific skills training and ongoing support in both individual and group settings at assigned work locations. Cultivate thriving careers within competitive and integrated environments through individualized guidance. Champion inclusive work cultures by fostering positive workplace interactions and enabling participants to contribute within a supportive and accepting atmosphere.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Participant Support:
- Guide participants to excel by overseeing task completion, coaching the development of job skills, fostering sustained focus, cultivating positive work habits, and maximizing their potential.
- Enable job mastery by assisting participants in learning and executing their job tasks through hands-on training, positive reinforcement, and other tailored supportive strategies.
- Champion employment equity by advocating for participants' workplace rights, proposing alternative work methods or reasonable accommodations, and proactively informing site supervisors of potential accommodation needs.
- Connect participants and employers by serving as the primary liaison, ensuring seamless integration and fostering successful workplace relationships.
- Identify and address barriers to employment by continuously assessing ongoing support service needs. Cultivate strong collaborative relationships by maintaining consistent communication with participants, program staff, counselors, and other key stakeholders.
- Document participant progress by submitting timely progress reports, comprehensive case notes, and accurate required information (billing-related), and oversee efficient daily inventory tracking and insightful site visits, if applicable
Safety & Security:
- Safeguard the working environment through diligent identification of hazardous conditions, timely reporting of safety incidents, and rigorously enforcing compliance standards within organizational policies and code of conduct. Adhere to all safety standards and exercise caution in all work-related activities.
Additional Duties
- Attends meetings and training as required. If required to drive for a work event, you should have a valid CDL and required auto insurance.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises WEX Trainees and Program Participants
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 1-2 years of job coaching or relevant experience.
- Experience working with individuals with barriers to employment.
