Primary Responsibility / Summary
Along with the Supervisor assists in the supervising of daily activities loading and unloading goods; maintains accurate inventory and shipping records; performs a variety of material handling tasks to support the efficient operation of the department. Operates forklift and other power equipment to load, unload, move, stack, stage goods, and dispose of trash. Monitors productivity levels to support the business needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1.Monitors daily goals for department.
2.Assists with the communication of productivity standards and daily start-up meetings.
3.Loads, secures and unloads goods into their assigned areas. Monitors product to ensure that only damaged product is disposed as trash.
4.Performs routine housekeeping task to promote established safety procedures.
5.Abides by and enforces all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to those designed to reduce errors and minimize shrinkage
6.Ensures that equipment is properly and safely used by all team members. Observes all safety procedures and reports all potential hazardous conditions and unsafe practices.
7.Operates various equipment to move, lift, bale goods and dispose of trash.
8.Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the equipment. Performs daily inspections on the equipment.
9.Ability to lift 50 lbs. Shift flexibility and overtime when needed.
10.May require some local travel. A valid CA driver’s license and state required insurance are necessary. Driving record must be acceptable by company’s insurance vendor.
Education & Experience
•Min. two years of warehouse experience; forklift experience essential.
Current forklift certificate required.
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
•Ability to work with moderate supervision.
•Spanish / English bilingual preferred.
•Bobtail truck experience preferred.
•Excellent customer relations skills.
