Primary Responsibility / Summary

Performs roadside clean-up services along city streets and rights-of-way for City of Palm Springs Contract. Per government requirements, this role required to be fully COVID- 19 vaccinated.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs roadside maintenance services consisting of policing and litter pick-up to remove paper, glass, trash, vegetation and other accumulated debris from city streets and rights-of-way.
  • Clears fallen palm fronds from roads and streets.
  • Removes debris and/or vegetation located in streets and rights-of-ways resulting from traffic accidents, illegal dumping, paint, diesel and oil spills, abandoned mattresses and appliances, downed trees and other vegetation, rain and wind storms, and transient camps.
  • Maintains log sheet of daily activities and hours worked.
  • Receives and implements instructions from City point-of-contact.
  • Has responsibility for sorting waste material at City waste collection site.
  • Responds to emergency call-outs, altering scheduled activities to respond.

  • Performs other roadside and grounds maintenance related duties as assigned by supervisor.
