Job Description

Objective and Primary Responsibilities / Summary

The Driver Assistant Work Experience Trainee is a temporary work experience position that provides the participant an opportunity to learn the basic tasks and skills of the position. Participants are placed at one of our distribution hubs and each experience is unique in skills attainment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the assigned driver:

  1. Utilizes safe practices to properly assist drivers with loading and unloading of bins.
  2. Loads and unloads bins at every route location.
  3. Maps and tracks driving routes to Goodwill sites from the Distribution Center.
  4. Conducts pre trip truck safety inspections with the assigned driver before beginning routes.
  5. Manages all route related paperwork and ensures correct delivery of goods.
  6. Maintains a positive and helpful attitude when interacting with Ambassadors or third parties.
  7. Cleans, organizes, and maintains truck cabin conditions.
  8. Ability to lift and carry min. 50 lbs.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  2. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
